I'm looking for reassurance and/or advice about my recent order of some Hoka One Ones (Bondi 4). It is practically impossible to find anything other than Asics, Nike and Adidas here. Although I find the odd pair of Brooks, they don't stock the half sizes, so it's a no goer. I have big feet, which doesn't help either - all the women's models are too small, so I end up buying men's shoes.
My Asics Gel pulses have lost their limited bounce and the uppers are getting holes all over the place, so I have ordered a pair of Hoka's online. I've ordered a slightly larger size than my Asics as I've been told that Hoka's size small. I'm also a little anxious about the thickness of the sole. Whilst I wait for the moment of truth on delivery, can anyone share their experience with these shoes?

I've got Bondi 5s at the mo, had 2 pairs of Cliftons before then! I know loads of runners who have them here on the iow and love them! They are a bit space age in appearance but you get used to it and the thick soles! I really like mine and never had any probs with rubbing or blisters from them . I got a 7 for my size 6 ish feet! 😊
Good good, that's one positive response then I think I can get over the appearance if they are as bouncy as they are reported to be... I got a 44 2/3 size in EU sizing, I'm usually a 43.
i have clifton 3s and they are like running on cloud. they do look a bit mad and ive seen people stare at them a few times XD and i have wide feet so they fit me great . oh and i went for half size bigger
I'm looking forward to trying mine - I run like a zombie on speed so I get stared at anyway I'm reassured to read that you sized up too, now I just have to wait (they're not posting them till the 9/11 at the earliest, grrrr).
im usually a uk size 12(lol) but as a running noob i didnt know i should get a half size bigger. my first pair where the cheapest asics gel and where ok at first but there where times where my feet would swell up a little and i couldn't run in them.
yea ive struggled with regular footwear for years as my feet are wider and shoes dont last long with my toes starting to poke holes in the sides hahaha, these wide ones are an exception
Three cheers for Hoka! You must have had teenaged years like mine then, wearing the only pair your mother could find in your size, irrelevant of colour and style. For some reason the only shoes Clark's did in big sizes were granny shoes - as if we all wake up with big feet and a taste for Damart undies on our 60th birthday

I got myself the Hokas in the end, but I'm still not 100% happy in them - Still trying to beak them in. In the mean time, I'm using the old ones (Asics) too.
