Three runs in one

I stopped to see a friend mid-run the other day and persuaded her to start c25k but she didn't feel comfortable about running by herself so I offered to take her out. Run 1, for her, was tonight and she lives 2.5k from my house (uphill) so I set off for my warm up walk and then ran to her house. She was ready and waiting so we set off with Laura in one ear for the timings. I felt quite the professional coach telling her to slow her pace and then encouraging her. A successful w1r1 completed I left her at her house and then ran home by myself hence the three runs in one - next run is Saturday morning.

Brilliant! I'm sure she felt so much better and confident with someone by her side to guide her - particularly guiding her on pace and giving encouragement. I'm sure she'll go from strength to strength now, and it will surely help that you're on hand for advice.

I really enjoyed it, although I am feeling my legs a bit today as I walked to work as well as running and covered about 20k on my feet yesterday!!

You did a good thing. Only got going on C25K myself when my husband started running with me and I'm so glad he did! Good luck for Sat.

Saturday should be good as it will be a daytime run - just need to come up for a good route that doesn't involve too much crossing of roads as the pavements tend to run out a bit

Well done you, I'm sure your friend will really appreciate it. I do something similar with friend, but I run with him on my rest days. I hadn't thought of running to his house first, then doing his run. Mind you he lives about 6km away (uphill) so I'd have to work out how I would get back after his run...

You've got me thinking now...

Maybe 6km is a bit far.....unless you are training for a marathon....
