I think I am hooked! Only managing two runs a week (a 5k and a 10k) would that be enough preparation for a 10k run in august?
I'm enjoying this!: I think I am hooked! Only... - Bridge to 10K
I'm enjoying this!
If you are running a 10K at that pace, you are more than ready enough to tackle a 10K race now, never mind in August. I'm running in a 10K event myself this evening, and there will be lots of runners there posting far worse times. I'd be very happy if I got that time myself tonight.
Just keep on getting out as regularly as you can and you'll be fine. Remember that, in an event with other runners around to spur you on, you will probably find that you click a much better time.
If you can run 10k then you can run a 10k race.
If you want to be competitive about it then obviously more training will probably garner a faster time.
Do remember, you are still a new runner, so don't overdo the training but try to keep it regular. There are plenty of free 10k plans available which are useful for reference, even if you don't want or need to follow them.
As AdamB and IannodaTruffe have said: Yes, you're ready.
It wouldn't hurt to throw in a third run every week, but as long as you enjoy what you're doing, then that's the main thing
