Graduated C25K on 26/10 and done a 10km today. Does this count or does it need to be an official event? Thanks

No it counts. I would offer a little caution if I may. They recommend at least 9-10 weeks to get to 10km from 5km so I would let your muscles and joints get used to your new distance before pushing the distance for a while. Happy running.

I'm quite slow (it took 1hr 11 mins) and have built it up with just the one long run each week and the others being around the 5/6km mark.
