London marathon notifications...

Hi fellow runners x

I had a moment of madness a few months back and applied for a place in the London marathon. The website states that you will receive notification in early October if you've been successful. I just wondered if anyone knows if you are told if you have not been successful. I don't want my postman to think I'm stalking him for post. It's a bit like back in the day waiting for exam results. I'm showing my age now when we didn't have emails or texting!! I appreciate your words of wisdom thank you x

I believe you do get told either way.

Fingers crossed for you!

I think I had an email saying the results are out on October 18th but don't know if everyone is notified.

I had an email saying 18th October. Like you it was a moment of madness, I'm off to see my Dad for a week that week so Mr Rfc will get my mail, I'm sort of dreading it because with family commitments I really can't do it this year and it would be just my sort of luck to get in 😀.

Did you know you can just defer it for a year - have to pay again. So my mate at work says anyway.

I entered too in a moment of madness (mad because I couldn't even walk at the time, due to broken bones!). Last year people got a magazine either saying 'YOU'RE IN' (with photo of a runner in a bee costume) or 'SORRY!' (with a picture of a runner dressed as Spiderman). Nothing if not creative...
