Great week for me last week first time in ages I actually got some km's under my belt 34 to be precise and it felt good to feel in control of it again.

I am having a "disjointed" two weeks and my training programme has had to be heavily edited. However, I have had a success in determining my anaerobic threshold heart rate number very closely. This number together with my maxHR and my ventilatory threshold HR number - defines me as a person!! :)

Ah, the numbers :)

Wow RFC, that's just brilliant! 34!!!!

I'm having some time off, it's just so hot here. I kept going through it all last year but this year I just don't feel like it. Stupidly, I'm kind of feeling guilty...I ran 14K last week, over winter in UK I was up to 33...bring on the cooler mornings!

You're feeling guilty? Hmmm... I think time off is a good idea if it's really hot - not sure running in the heat does you as much good anyway. You'll pick up the distance soon, I'm sure.

Only a little bit! I'm sort of scared I might not get going again!

Well, the running is sort of okay - Ms. Nagging Nancy of MyAsics is doing her job well and hassling me out three times a week, even though I'm now not entering the race I told her I was - but I've fallen off the bike again :( I'm almost considering going to beginners' running club tonight in long tights because my legs look so awful - scratched and bruised.

Although I've set one of my Asics runs to be BRC because otherwise I can't fit them all in. At the moment the plan calls for 2x 5k fast and a 3k interval. Last week the 5k fast wasn't quite enough for the Asics plan, but there's no way it would have been enough for the intervals. It doesn't quite fit. In a way, it doesn't matter because I'm not actually training for an event - but in my mind, I'm not doing it 'properly'!

I took a couple of weeks almost off running, with about 20 miles done in each of them. It was refreshing, now I want to build up some long run and shred some Kg. (about 14) before the winter, then I will try to increase the power horses in the legs and get faster. I would love to run 5 K close to 20' before end of the year and then find a nice flat 10K in Northern Ireland (any suggestion?) to race it for the first time...

Let's see what comes with the end of summer :)

have a great day

Marco
