Finally managed a sub 30 min 5K at Parkrun on Saturday (29:59 so only just!). Trying to build up to 10K - longer and slow runs have definitely helped me get a quicker 5K
5K PB: Finally managed a sub 30 min 5K at... - Bridge to 10K
5K PB
Congratulations! I remember finding exactly the same when I increased my distance! Happy running🙂
Well done! Sub 30 for 5km is still a distant far off dream of mine.
Good luck with getting to 10km.
Happy running 👟
Wowee! Fellow runners know how amazing reaching a goal like that is! Very well done, I did my first 5k in 43 minutes and now reach it in 34 minutes. A sub 30 minute 5k, awesome - I dream about that!!
There's hope for me yet! Thank you for this post!
Well done - enjoy that feeling.
I felt like my sub-30min parkrun was a fluke too, but no one can take it away from you, every run is different, just that one was faster! You'll find it works the other way round, in the same way that running further has helped you run a faster 5k, running faster will help you build stamina for longer slower runs too. Happy running
Well done fitzpats - great milestone chalked off.
Ooo well done you! I haven't quite made that yet - my pb is 30 min 38.. And at Parkrun too. I always run fastest at PR than any other time.. Funny that.
Good luck with your 10k, you're well on your way 😄 🏃
