I have been researching as much as I can and what is now available about the early days of "jogging" -- I can actually remember the early jogging craze in the early 70's, although I was not part of it. However, it seems to me that now "WE" are a bit caught up in the "running" craze - races, paces ,times, distances , etc - when really what most of us really started out to do was the same as what the early joggers started out to do - get a bit fitter, lose a bit of weight, be able to run to catch a bus, play with our kids (grandkids)

Most of the info we read on the internet (training programmes, etc) are race oriented - don't run more than 3-4 days per week else you may hurt yourself. Well, yes - if you run like a bat out of hell on those 3 days. But the early joggers ran 7 days per week - slowly!!
