Just going to be cutting back a bit this week. Maybe try a 10km but its a really busy week this week so I'm not pushing it.  Happy running everyone.

Good luck RFC. I'm trying to work out may strategy for my Weds run as now need to be in the office (1.5hr commute each way. Normally wfh weds) at sharp o'clock.  Might try going early early wearing my kit & run before starting. Just hope the showers are decent!

I'm going to try a gentle run tomorrow and see if I can breathe :)  I'm also going to go and pick up my race pack for Sunday's event because it would be silly not to have it, after all.

Happy running, everyone :)

Hope the run went/goes well today Annie.

Thanks, IP - didn't go today after all, I went to pick up my race pack and decided to leave my run until tomorrow.  I'm still wheezing a teensy bit :( so thought if I left it another day...

I can't decide whether to do a longer slow run tomorrow or a short fast run.  I haven't done any run for 10 days :(  We'll see how it feels!

I would say slow is best if you're still a bit wheezy. What about short and slow? But you've got your race pack! How exciting!

Another vote for short and slow from me.

My troublesome knee was feeling a lot better after parkrun, so thought I'd go for a longer run yesterday (nothing too excessive, just 5miles) and use the run as an excuse to see the bluebells. I know I don't pick my feet up as high as I think I do - and the run showed it, as I tripped on a tree root (I swear it jumped out at me!) and ended up stretched full length in the mud...

So, plan for this week is to work on technique and see if I can't get those knees a little higher!  Suggestions anyone?

It was worth it - the bluebells were magnificent!

Isn't it more about where the feet go?

Fabulous reason for a run though.

I did my first 10k for AGES this morning, taking advantage of the completely naff weather (though I only got rained on properly for the last ten minutes).  I really am never going to break any records - including all my walk breaks my av pace was 7.49, but at least I prove to myself every now and then that I can still do it ...

My 5k pace is getting a little better, but I think I may have reached my peak.  I can do the first 3 ks under 7 m/k, but after that it gets slower and I don't do more than 5k without a walk thus far.  At 51 and with some underlying health problems, I think this may be it.  I'm not moaning, but sometimes my eyes go out on stalks when I see the pace some of you put in on here!  I'm 5'7", but have a long body and shortish legs - maybe that's the problem (or maybe I'm just not working hard enough).  Whatevs.

Happy Monday everyone :)

Happy running week to you RFC , it is my cut back week also , probably just do a couple of 4k's see how it goes 😊

Cool running folks ☺

I have a 14k lined up for Saturday.  A fast pace is suggested but I can't sustain one over that distance but I will do my best.  I shall be taking a snack 🎂😊

I just wanted to say that I got back on the bike, literally, today for the first time in 6 weeks since my little gyno op. Needless to say I was a tad nervous 😮 but no eyes watering, no wincing and I managed 20 minutes 🤗 Pilates tomorrow. Run tomorrow. Happy 😊

Thats fantastic news your Maj, Well done ! :-)

I started my HM training last night, a 5k at a 11 min pace which I found really hard ! I am slow but even I found that too slow, so I just trundled along at my normal pace which is slow anyway ! :-)

Have a good week everyone ! xxx

HM poppy??!! OMG! Whoop whoop. You kept that quiet! Tell all. When? Where? What plan? What clothes are you wearing? Will there be bling? (you can't do a HM with no bling) So many questions! Fab stuff. Go you girl. Sending you oodles of good luck and enjoy the training. You'll be majestic. xxx

You can and you will do it, rcr. The front door gremlins simply won't hold you back for long! How about thinking of going out for a short one just to enjoy being out- then you can make it longer if you're enjoying it and still have gas in the tank? :)

Thank you, I'm extremely proud of that badge as well as my other graduate badge :D if it wasn't for everyone on here and people at parkrun, great run local and SRC I don't think I would've got to this point in my life :)

Well done Ruth... It's totally about getting out there! Sometimes I swear just to have gone out the door with the intention to run is the biggest battle of the day, won.

Totally first world worries, I know! Xxx

Not yesterday but I did this morning! Out the door at 6am! 😇

I had to. I didn't want to let you down 😄

I'm glad to hear it Rcr... I've gone back to basics and restarted C25K as a way of getting me out there and back in the swing. I'm really enjoying it- and noticing how much easier it is this time round- this must be what it's like for younger / fitter people the first time round! Joyous! :) However I have strayed from plan a bit... doing one run of each week then after a rest day or three doing another but with another straight after- woww I think I invented a way to train up a bit of endurance on the sly... mind you I'm currently only on week three! Have a great run later :)
