Has anyone noticed the hydration record on Garmin Connect? I think it appeared in the latest update and it looks like a great way of keeping check of how much water you drink each day. So simple to use too.

I shall certainly be using this in future

Yes I just measured the number of mils in our tumblers and water bottles so use that as container size and you just tap each time you finish one.

Sounds good.

I have that on my phone. I use it when I feel that my hydration is suffering

Great way of keeping track of hydration, easy to use.

Yes, I noticed it when I opened the app up yesterday after our Green Leek Run. After 2 hours of standing, walking and running in the rain it asked me if I was hydrated enough 😂😂😂

I noticed it today too Dexy. A good idea I think. 👍

Yes, it’s bugged in that you can’t change the size of your containers without it reverting back to defaults!

It’s there for the new watches... so far Fenix 6, the avengers ones, Star Wars ones and the Venu are the only running ones that use it. They adjust the required intake based on readings from the watch and can take inputs via the watch too. For the rest of us it’s a good tracker though.

Oh. I see what you mean. I changed it to 350 ml yesterday and it’s not there now. Oh well, changing it each day is OK now I know. Before, I was counting how many jugs we drank between us.

I've now changed the container size in my User Settings so I'm hoping it will show 350 mls every day now.

Keeps resetting for me... I’ve given up

I do think it's a good idea... But just something else I need to think about doing! 🙊 As well as drinking water 💦 😅

Oh yes you can faff till the cows come home with this running lark.

I like it, I have to work on my hydration. I have a 400ml mug that I use for (non caffeinated) tea so I have changed the 500ml to 400ml. I realise I need to up my hydration, I really thought I was doing well before ☹️. Rfc x

Yes me too. The colour of pee test is great as A reminder, but it’s too late then.

Seen this yesterday. Then just realised there is vo2 max on the app also . New it was on the watch . 😊

I seem to have lost that Buddy. I was looking for it yesterday

Go to the garmin connect app

Click on the 3 lines top left

Click on health and performance

It's in that list

I've had my garmin since July my v02 max was 35 it's now 37 not excellent but going on the right direction

Dexy5 profile image
Dexy5Graduate10 in reply toBuddy34

Thanks, it shows as 3 dots on the right bottom on my iPad. Funny how VO2 wasn't showing on my phone. They have been closed for maintenance this morning so it might behave again now.

Thank you, found it on the iPad but it’s not on my iPhone. Mine went down over the summer but is heading up again. I have read that a wrist strap is not a good indicator of vo2 max but at least you can see a trend.

Dexy5 ...VO2 is under health and performance on the drop down list at the side

Hi Dexy5 , yes, it popped up on my app this morning and I've signed up for it...I'm already dying for the loo I've drunk that much water already!!!

I have this on my fitbit app - have been using it for a while, and whilst i am pretty good at water intake it's a good reminder on the days i just don't drink enough to do it :-) its set on 3 standard but i can add my own amounts too

ArthurJG profile image

Yes I remember that from when I had a Fitbit. Didn’t really use it much but maybe should think about it. As noted above it’s now on the Garmin Connect app so you can use it by entering data on your phone even if your particular watch doesn’t support it.

Hi Dexy , yes I noticed it last night for the first time. I must look at it more. Although I tend to go by a rule of thumb that if the water going out of my body is the same colour as the water coming in, then I’m suitably hydrated 😂.

It sounds like you are on top of it already Damien.

I saw it and hit delete - I spend too much time checking my phone as it is without having it watch my liquid intake!

Dexy5 profile image
Dexy5Graduate10 in reply toOldgirlruns

The great thing about it is you realise that you aren’t drinking as much as you think you are. 💧💦💧

Oldgirlruns profile image
OldgirlrunsGraduate10 in reply toDexy5

Think I probably know that by the P theory! I usually try and keep a bottle (of water!) on the draining board and sip continually as I go past.

I hadn't seen this, then clicked on the connect app and it immediately popped up! I've put in the 32oz bottle and clicked each empty. Thanks for pointing it out!
