Whoops! Silly you 😣!!!!!! That is an awesome photo of running fun, love how they are spotless at the top and full of sludge everywhere else. How u getting those back to "clean"?? LOL

Have got them muddy before and when it dried was difficult to remove even with a stiff brush, so this time before it dried I put them under a cold tap and brushed, which was more effective, then used kitchen towel to soak up most of the water & let them dry naturally at room temp...😊

My shoes get so heavy with all the mud collected. I may get a pair of cross-country Spikes eventually.. ancientrunner, what do you use?

I recently bought some trail shoes specifically for Parkrun and they currently look like your picture waiting to have the mud brushed off - Adidas Kanadias and they are better than road shoes in the mud but it's still hard work and quite dodgy. I tend just to slow right down, sometimes to walk over the worst bits or skirt round the edges and forget the times. Have just had the volunteer email and sounds like they may cancel this week if there is much more rain.

Roundshaw was fine - lot less people than I'm used to. You don't notice going uphill too much and it's then downhill to the end. Not sure even wellingtons would do really - they'd stick in the mud and your foot would come out!!!

I used to live on Roundshaw est many years ago, and was a bog then!

I'll have to do that Parkrun, preferably when it's drier..
