So good to be accountable somewhere when we decide on a course of action to help us reach the goal! Only 4 days in so plenty of time to catch up or even start!
I have had 2 fab walks one ending up with fish and chips ā¦ not sure if thatās the right idea about exercise) plus two enjoyable runs, a 3K on Monday and a gentle 5K yesterday. Hoping to add in Pilates later!
Please let me know if you are taking up the red challengeā¦ need some company & encouragement especially on the non run stuff!

I guess Iām accidentally doing the RED challenge-exercising every day because Iām trying to get a mile walk a day for thirty days badge on my garmin!! When I started running, my daily steps actually went down! Apparently thatās common. Iāve had to go out in some vile weather but Iāve enjoyed it so far and itās definitely made me move when I otherwise wouldnāt have done.
While the weather was grim, I got back into swimming and have been a couple of times a week. Itās a bit of a faff to get there and back, plus all the hassle of changing etc but it has reminded me how much I enjoy it.
Running every day doesnāt work for me-I really need my rest days to stay injury free and energised! Itās great that RED has moved away from having to be running every day.
I am in... walked, ran and yoga-d so far ! The fact that we cam mix the exercises up, is so good.. I have really enjoyed this in previous years...
I have a twinge in my right knee and although it is not overly painful, I am avoiding runs until it feels comfier...I banged my ankle on the open door of the dishwasher two days ago and a pain shot up to the outside of my knee.. sensation like banging your funny bone... but it is very twingy ! So,, Yoga, FLOW, every day , plus walking and s and f workouts for me... I am glad as the weather has been pretty dire...
Well done for putting into action your own good advice!! Hope it feels comfier very soon. Unfortunate accident but so easily done. You certainly have lots of exercise and stretching ā¦ well done! Hug too š¤
When I googled RED January a couple years ago it was about raising money for charity and between that and various illnesses I've never done it, I've walked every day so far, but that'll come to a halt Wednesday, I'm enjoying everybodies posts though
After having a wee look on google for RED January, Iām in too! Why not!!! š
I do yoga daily and plan to continue the way Iāve started this year! Iām going to try going a walk every day tooā¦and when I start running again next week š¤ that will get added to the schedule. Iāll be back to my workouts next week alsoā¦stepping, weights, mobility and other cardio with Chris @ CDornerFitness! Whoop!
Letās motivate each otherā¦you to me for the running and walking, and me to you for those pesky exercises! šš
You are not alone! š¤£ We will give it our best shot! Allotment sounds like extra hard work but way more fun! All those yummy veg! Today is Runday for me as soon as it gets light.
I'm in . So far so good. I have run everyday so far, mainly only 2k runs .I have also got wet on every run -the one day it wasn't raining I ran through a massive puddle in a dark corner of an otherwise well lit route! I don't mind wet running but the odd dry one would be nice! Hoping RED won't end up as WED !
Yes each time itās a dry run is cause for celebration these days! Well done! I could never run every day! Happy to fast walk the alternating days. However I do find it easier running in rain than walking in rain āļø Good to hear from you!
I totally agree. Walking in the rain nowhere near as much fun as runnjng in it ! When running everyday I run very slowly even on the short ones. I did RED February last year - it's shorter!!! I found the last couple of days a bit tough so know that I have to take things very gently.
Good luck with the rest of the month-looing forwards to reading all about !
