Hello! Great idea for a group... I just wondered if it's just for those doing 10k or looking to beyond that.... I would so love a group that captures all of us who are still babies in our running journey but wanting to push the boundaries as far as they will go???

Thankyou

Juicyju

HI, I'm a C25K graduate, moving up to a 10K. I agree its good to join a group looking to take their next steps in their running journey. How long have you been running ? Do you have a long term aim in mind ?

I started C25K in February 2013. I have done a few 10k and HM races and did my very first Marathon in April :) My aim is to do ultraruns!!! Yes I probably am crazy... good luck on your journey, what are you aiming for?

Hi, wow Ultraruns !!! I'm so impressed.... My next goal is a 10k at the end of November. I'm finding that I finished the C25K in September and now I have had a dip in motivation. I think maybe it's the change of season as well. I was spoilt by all the long light summer evenings. So considering joining a running club and/or a gym. Do you run with other people or as part of a club ?

Yes I get that... And that's fab to go for a 10k... Start thinking about long term goals too so you have the next thing to look forward to. I had a v brief spell at a running club and I ended up in tears as they were all like athletes :( I have just joined a gym and that's okish but it's mot v friendly and v sterile but it's definately improving my ability. Have you a gym near you??

Hi, I have been thinking about joining a gym, and have some really near by. I like the idea of walking there rather than driving the car. I'm doing a Park Run tomorrow to keep up my momentum. I agree with your idea of having long term goals to keep motivated. What's your next goal ? Do you still run three times a week or more ? Wishing you a great weekend ....

Walk to the gym!! If you want to burn off those gymsters, RUN to the GYM - AND home!! You will be regarded as HARDCORE!!! :)

I am here and thankyou!! I will blog here now as it feels right and proper as I am not a newbie anymore :(

And can we all contribute to changing the cover photo regularly? I never did get anywhere with my beige legs issue!!!

in reply toju-ju-

Haha, I remember reading your beige legs post and being most perplexed. I had never noticed them until you pointed them out!! ;-)

That sounds a great idea to me, I think we all still need goals to aim for to keep the motivation going.

agree..I feel a fraud on the C25k blog now and I would hate to put new people off just because i am reaching ahead now...

I'm not even sure I want to go as far as 10k, but now running 6k and considering slowly edging up to 7k next, as well as trying to improve my 5k time down towards 30mins, if I can. I find I look more at other graduates' posts on c25k, although do try to encourage people currently doing the programme. Good to have somewhere specifically for c25k graduates to share their progress without worrying about affecting morale among newer runners.

I just discovered this forum a couple of days ago. Although I did vote in favour of a 10k forum when the questionnaire flashed up a few weeks back! Quick work health unlocked! This is the perfect place to talk about post c25k stuff, and it's nice to see so many familiar faces / names! Won't be giving up on c25k though. That's where I found my love for running :-)

Gosh I thought we'd lost you juicyju! And here you are! Great idea for folk who've been running a bit longer. I'm still working at my 10ks, but moving that up to 10miles training in November. So I'll need advice about that all being well. Have a 10k trail race in Feb which dagshar from here is doing the half as well. But I really want to do the Belfast half in September next year! So I'll be picking everyone's brains about that distance!! Glad I found this 10k + forum! 😀

Hi Sparky, I am hoping to do a bit of a recce and part trial run in Northumberland between Christmas and New year (if I can get away from Durham with the car one day); will send over any useful information / insights I may gain :-)

Oh dagshar, you're a sweet heart- could do with knowing what's it's like! How much beach / hill etc. Trying out a fell run tomorrow- scary hey but need to get used to rough ground!! Xx

Hello everyone! I've found this forum too now, and it seems a good idea. After my first half last week, I'm going to be carefully planning my next events. I've got the London Olympic Park 10k booked for 13th December and the London Winter Run 10k in January, but I want to schedule more HMs in before too long. The Vitality North London Half looks good.

I've also joined a local running club, which is very good for people of all abilities. Went on the first club run Thursday evening.

Not what you're looking for?
