My wife had ER,PR,Her2 positive and grade3 breast cancer.MRM done the lymph nodes are free of tumor.Now she had taken her 10 cycle weekly paclitaxel and vivitra only two cycle left. Vivitra to continue another 13 cycle for 21days. No Radiation treatment required.

Need advice on trastuzumab as her Doctor is saying after weekly 12cycles is complete she can continue or stop depending on our financial condition.

Thanks for your reply .......I have decided to continue trastuzumab .I am from manipur as it's not available here I will purchase from Mumbai. So I need some info about trastuzumab.

1. How long it can be keep in room temperature.

2.How long it can be store In thermocol box with ice packs.

3.Are online dependable, like there delivery duration and preservation.

I am in the US, and don't know the answers to your questions. If you cannot get an answer from your doctor or a pharmacist, I will call the Genentec number and ask your questions. It is a long weekend here, so I probably won't be able to connect with them until Tuesday. Let us know if you get an answer in the meantime. I'm sure others have the same question.

Pharmacist said trastuzumab can be kept for half hour in room temperature and I tested how long ices pack last in termocol box.The ice remain hard for 12 hours and remain cold for another 8 hours.

Hope It will be safe for about 20 hours.

Sapamdinesh, I will enquire with my Medical Oncology colleagues and get back. But honestly, the best person for you would be your own oncologist. He would very much be there when Herceptin is being given. And I suppose, you must be consulting him regularly. Probably you can try asking him as well since you meet him so often. We don’t have a Medical Oncologist on board, but will ask my colleague and let you know.

My wife has the same as your wife, she underwent 3 cycles of chemo with trastuzumab(herceptin), then surgery again 3 cycles of chemo with trastuzumab (herceptin), after this mammogram was done, PET scan done, results showed no symptom of the disease, histopathology tests repeated again and results showed normal, radiation was not required, further chemo cycles were not required, it is one and half years since her treatment, at present she is fine and doing well. I am sure your wife will also be fine, my prayers for her to get well

Sorry about your wife's condition, I pray for her to get well soon, my wife was in the same condition as your wife, but was stage four, every Oncologist differs in treatment, my wife under went 3 cycles of chemo with trastuzumab and had surgery (mastectomy) then again 3 cycles of chemo with trastuzumab, after treatment all tests and PET Scan were repeated and came as negative, radiation was not required, now she is doing well, with 3 months once review
