Uses of milk during treatment of breast cancer specially during chemo.
I do not believe that milk is harmful at all. However, some people do have lactose intolerance and hence they do not tolerate it. If your mother feels it fine, she can very well have milk, as well as milk based ice cream (not water based one)

The Internet is a wonderful resource for some things, but a good place to avoid when making medical decisions. There is too much bad information out there. Milk and ice cream are often tolerated well when chemo patients are trying to get back their taste for food and avoid too much weight loss. Milk based soups are also good.
A good resource for information is breastcancer.org There is good information here as well. On the right side
of the page under topics there is a link to posts about diet and exercise. Try to avoid other internet searches. It is very hard to be a worried caregiver.
Do make sure that her doctor is aware of your mother's symptoms, especially the fevers. Let us know how she is getting on.
