Hi, my mom's 2nd chemo is going to commence soon and we had to shell out a lot on the drugs. Even after chemo she had to take antibiotics to increase her WBC count. I would like to know if there is anyone here who can guide me in finding cancer drug distributors who would sell the drugs at a cheaper rate.
Does anyone know Cancer Drug Distribut... - Breast Cancer India
Does anyone know Cancer Drug Distributors in Hyderabad?
Marium sad to hear about your mom
Everything would be alright
My mom would be having her second chemo on 1 Nov I have contacted government hospital and had got rebate of 1.5 lac I do know which state are u from as most of states offer help to cancer patients my first chemo was free all I had to do is spend around 3000 for sone medicine plz contact govt hospital they would surely help u
Most Onco recommend expensive chemos such as that from Novartis,Pfizer as there is huge commission involved.sunpharma, cadila etc sells d samr chemos at 30% price.so ask Dr for chemos from these companies
With chemo your wbc also dies so it is natural to have low WBC.immunity is very low so dont take patient out or meet her without changing clothes once you are back from outside
Paneer made from cream free milk, fruit, vegetable juices, sunrays could be of help
Hi Marium,
Sorry to hear about mom. contact Krishna Goel @ 9985130555 of bhavani pharma, he can help you procure the medicines at discount. Do check with your hospital if they accept medicines from outside. Let me know which hospital are you getting your mom treated at. Iam based in Hyd and recently went thru this stigma and one thing is for sure that these hospitals have become money minting machines and they care inly about money. Best of luck and in case of any assistance do contact me @ 9703798379
Hi Marium - try to contact shoebhussian on his cell. We all do accept that all our savings of life get exhausted in the treatement. Its tough to adjust financially also. There is Rajiv Gandhi Jeevan Aroygya Scheme in which you get treatement cost 1.50 Lacs. Pl ensure you tell your hospital authorities you want as you have to get a health card and then you can avail.I think sunnybrar can help you for this scheme details
Hello everyone, thank you all for the concern and replies. Sunnybrar 79 and Kontak, I will definitely get in touch with you guys, Sunny, please leave your phone no, would like to know about Rajiv Gandhi Arogya Scheme. Kontak and Lamchee, thanks so much, can you tell me more about what should i give to mum to keep her healthy during chemo. ?
Honestly guys, I went to the doc today and he said mum will not be able to continue with the 4 cycles of chemos as her bone structure is thin and weak. He has advised Herceptin with Paclitaxel for 12 weeks and then herceptin for the rest of the year
Can anyone guide me here who went through the same thing and how did they feel about it?
Marium
I had paclitaxel for 12 weeks along with Herceptin with no side effects. I am 32 years old but in the hospital I go to for my chemo, weekly paclitaxel is given even to 80 year olds with diabetes and it is said to be tolerated well by them. As for Herceptin, it can give rise to cardio-toxicity, so cardiac functions are monitored before and during treatment by 2D echo. Herceptin is also a very expensive drug. However I do not know how govt hospitals would charge for this drug.
Wish all the best to your mother.
