I’m recently finding it extremely difficult to fall asleep at night. I’ve tried baths, essential oils to calm me, meditation etc no matter how tired I am I just don’t fall asleep and it’s so frustrating. As I lay there my mind just wanders too and it stresses me out and makes me sad.
I recently bought Valerian and Ashwagandha in liquid form.
I’m on tamoxifen and zoladex, premenopausal oestrogen positive breast cancer. Was wondering if it will interfere with my drugs? Has anyone taken it?
I don’t want to get any medication from the gp.
Please help! X

Tamoxifen interrupts your sleep cycle. If you don't already, you should take it when you first wake. I don't have a problem taking medications on an empty stomach.
I am on Jane McClellands Facebook page How to starve cancer and although there is no scientific evidence, there is a lot of anecdotal. Here is one extract from the page:
“THC can cause progression of some estrogen driven cancer cells lines as it indirectly promotes hormone production. Er+Pr+her2- is one such cancer cell line.
No one knows for sure what ratio of CBD:THC is required and it may very well vary between individuals. It’s commonly advised that 3:1 CBD dominant oil is best but being that CBD has been show in vitro to kill these cancer cells and anecdotal evidence supports that.
I’ve seen reports that 25:1 CBD dominant oil has shown the greatest results. It makes sense that if CBD doesn’t the heavy lifting with this cell line, and THC can promote production of hormones that drive the cancer, that just a small amount of THC for the synergistic effects on the endocannabinoid system are required.
I recommend starting with a 25:1 CBD over THC is the way to go and if no positive movement on numbers and scans after about 3 months, begin increasing THC content.”
This is a quote from the page and not my advice!!!!
I recommend joining the fb group as it shares knowledge about off label drugs and all cancers are discussed by the patients, with advice shared and supported. And also buying her book!
Also look into Nurse Kristin (fb name) as she has more knowledge on this.
Trust me to be different. Since starting tamoxifen Nov 1st I've been sleeping better. Maybe a bit tired from radiotherapy though haven't noticed it in the day. Even supplements can be powerful, they obviously do something because they work so I wouldn't shy away from asking GP for help. A short course of tablets could break the cycle of insomnia. Having said that I wouldn't go down that route either unless desperate.
