I got diagnosed with breast cancer Feb 2016 I am her2 positive.
I had a lumpectomy followed 2 weeks later by complete lymph node clearance .
I had Fec-T chemo 5 out of 6 due to the steroids affecting my eye sight. Followed by 4 weeks of radiotherapy which ended beginning of October.
I am on herceptin and had 10 out of my 18 so far.
In the last 2 weeks I have had a ache under my breast / top of rib area and also under my arm near to scar of lumpectomy.
Has anybody else had this as I know it's very easy to worry over every ache and pain that isn't normal after being diagnosed with cancer.
I am due my 1st mammogram in February since diagnosis but didn't know whether to mention something before then. I have my 11th herceptin next week so I could ask my oncology nurses then.
Many thanks for any replies

Hi xxx if it was me if I have any worries , at any time I ring my breast cancer nurse .. It's a long time before you see anyone .. They can put your mind a rest xxx good luck x
I will give the Bc nurse a call . To be honest I am between 2 different hospitals and wasn't sure which breast care nurse was mine anymore but maybe I will try the 1st one I had at diagnosis.
I have been very lucky so far and haven't had to bother anyone apart from my eyesight.
firstly, well done on getting to this stage and staying sane!
I think it's very normal to have aches and pains and funny twinges when your body is coming back from all that has been thrown at it.. i sometimes get a pain in my left breast (which was actually my tummy in a previous life! :)). i dont actually have much feeling there at all but sometimes get a sharp pain and that used to worry me but it has gotten less frequent and my breast care nurse says funny unexplained pains are common
i would think it's nothing sinister. but to put your mind at rest you could ring your breast care nurse like Mandy says, or even your doctor just to have it confirmed for your own peace of mind..
Yes my right underarm is still numb from lymph node clearance and still quite puffy but I think that is quite normal from having lymph nodes removed, my surgeon has seen it and was not worried so that's fine by me.
My underarm is still puffy after 12 months. I saw my plastic surgeon last week, i have had mascetomy and reconstruction and he said the puffiness is normal x
I would mention this to your BC nurse. Hope you feel better soon x
I was diagnosed with Her2+ in June 2014 and followed a similar course of treatment... FEC-T, surgery, r/t, herception and now on tamoxifen for 10 years. I still get twinges and occasional sharp pain in the affected area. I did check with the oncologist who advised that this was normal and that this was down to the tissues/nerves knitting back together. I still suffer from lymphedema and numbness under my area.
For your own peace of mind check with your BC nurse.
I had similar diagnosis and treatment to you,1 year previous to you,for me those aches do happen from time to time ,a lot of changes going on in your body they do just feel normal now but please do talk to your nurse and have it checked best of luck with rest of treatment you are doing well to be at this stage.
