I saw a gynaecologist last week who looked into my scans and said that my gynae is perfectly normal; I do have a tilted womb but he said 15% of people do. Hes decided that the pill is probably my best option to try and he thinks it could be really effective for me. I should be starting it within the next 2-5 days. He wants me to take it so I only end up with 3 periods each year, so would I just take it for 3 months, have a break, take it for 3 months, have a break etc??

The Pill back to back.
Hi is it the mini pill cuz some you take continuous and not have a break others you have a break every 28days and hardly have a period with them
Hi, sorry I should have stated.. its the combined pill Im being put on. The gynaecologist reccomended I do it so I onl get 3 periods a year but didnt explain exactly how to take it. I have a GP appointment tomorrow so Ill mention it then, but I feel like the GP will think that its a bad idea doing that. I want to at least try it and if I find its more painful or whatever having that many a year Ill do it so I get more than 3 because you have quite a lot of control over your period on the pill, from what Ive heard? xx
Yeah u do the doc will prob go with what the other people say as some people continue to take the pill month after month and never have a period and u can do it it may give u less pain u won’t know till u try tho
Ive read that with the combined pill you can only take three packs back to back and it can make your period extremely painful so I just wondered if anybody had done it. Ill obviously talk to my doctor about my options tomorrow but the gynaecologist did reccomend only having three periods a year.
