“You can get pregnant right away after stopping regular-dose or low-dose hormonal birth control. About half of women get pregnant in the first 3 months after stopping the Pill, and most women get pregnant within 12 months after stopping the Pill.”
The mini pill can cause bleeding when you come off it but not bad as far as i’m aware. I was on the combined pill for 17 years and conceived in the first month so it’s not an exact science unfortunately.
It somewhat depends on how long you've been taking it. The direct clearance of progesterone is only relevant when it's 72hrs post-coital pills - for the daily dose contraceptive, the calculation is much complex as your body is made to depend on externally administered hormone (high progesterone levels). Usually, it's best to consider that it takes 3-6 months for the system to get back to natural hormone dependence. People do get pregnant right away too but that's rare for sure. If you're asking about TTC you can start right away - but keep in mind that any symptoms you see within the next 3-6 months might be just the part of withdrawal symptoms and not pregnancy.
Oh 8 years is a long time - that's gonna take a while to get back to normal. You should TTC but it's like don't expect things to happen for at least 6 months. Even for people without pills in their system ever or any other fertility issue, it takes around 8-10 months to get pregnant from the point they start TTC seriously. I didn't know much either till infertility hit me. I'll suggest get an OPK that's gonna be handy to let you know when you ovulate. Good luck with the TTC!
