Spine fractures

I have 3 spine fractures first diagnosed January 2023.I am currently on Denosumab every 6 months. I have had 2 lots of injections and have suffered neck shoulder and back pain. I can't play bowls which is my sport and cannot walk very far because of back pain. I was not like this before injections.

After the fractures I didn't have pain they had healed.

I am very unsure about my 3rd injection.

I wouldn't hesitate if not so painful.

It is so simple a blood test then injection every 6 months. Unfortunately not for me.

Whatever you do don’t just stop Denusomab without discussing things with your doctor or consultant because you will need to go on to a relay drug like alendronic acid to prevent rebound fractures.

Have a look at this information leaflet fr9m the ROS

Thank you for your support. Yes it is very difficult when we can't do the things like sport and walking which I enjoy.

I had the same fractures and on the same injections, I never felt any new neck or back pain (apart from what I already had). If you stop the injections all the good work they have done reverts back to how your bones where before and you may fracture again more easily. Speak to your Consultant about the pains.

hHi I was first on Terraparatide for two years then I’ve been on Denosumab for four years. I had really bad pain before any medication and I’ve still got it now when I do certain things. I would look more into it before making any judgement. I haven’t had any more fractures since being on Denosumab.

Have you been given another X-ray. It’s always a possibility that another has fractured before you had enough treatment.

Hi thanks for you reply. I haven't had a second xray but I think it's a good idea.I'm so undecided as I said about the pain. It has eased off a bit as injection wearing off. Due 3rd in September.?
