Sounds awful, my sister lost balance on a couch bending to pick up a fallen object, like you she crashed to floor with femur. She didn't know she had osteoporosis. I hope your pain meds are helping, I believe it was tough going post op for my sis. Best of luck moving forward
I’m so sorry you’ve done that. You make me feel so lucky because I had a fall about six weeks ago. I couldn’t even breathe for a minute or so. I was really sure I had broken some ribs. I called 111 as I’m on my own. I get so angry when I do silly things. Anyway I had an ambulance turn up five hours later. By then my ribs were terrible but my breathing was ok. They asked me if I wanted to go to hospital. I said no thank you. They were so relieved. They said they had just had a woman whose sats were fine but she insisted she goes to hospital. I do think I broke some ribs but they can’t do anything for them. They tested my oxygen and said that was ok so really there would be no need to go to hospital. And when you are on your own how do you get home after going in. I’ve got family but they are all busy people.
We’re so sorry to hear about the week you’ve been having, it sounds like an incredibly stressful time. Thank you for coming on and sharing with us here, we hope that our community can be a space for you to connect with others who understand. From your post, we’re not sure whether osteoporosis is a recent diagnosis for you or not, but we did just want to drop by to let you know that we have lots of information on our website that might be helpful: theros.org.uk/information-a...
Hello thanks for post, yes I have had osteoporosis for 11yrs now , and I take the chewable tablets twice daily , before accident I just had aches and pains . Going off to stay at rehab after hospital take care everyone, o for got back last year I had a tooth removed by my dentist, she then after removal referred me to hospital, turned out I had erousion of my jaw , which was partially removed , not nice
Trevor, by "erosion of my jaw", do you mean osteonecrosis of the jaw? You usually only develop that after being on osteoporosis medication for several years. What are the chewable tablets you're taking?
