I am 55 and was diagnosed with osteoporosis in December 2023 ( spine -3.4, femoral neck -2.8, total hip -1.6). Had a DEXA to get a baseline before starting medication for breast cancer. I was diagnosed with breast cancer in August, had surgery, radiation and I’m now on Tamoxifen for 5 years. Reclast has been recommended but I’m hesitant as I have a mandibular tori which is a risk factor for osteonecrosis of the jaw. Has anyone had a mandibular tori and taken Reclast?

Hi Mountainfan, thanks for seeking help on this topic.
Your question is quite specific and whilst we hope you do get some replies, you might also find it helpful to contact a helpline or speak to your doctor.
The ROS Helpline is aimed at those living in the UK as information about care and treatment can often be country-specific. The International Osteoporosis Foundation has information about national societies in USA here osteoporosis.foundation/pat... and may have a helpline nearer you.
I had breast cancer just over a year ago. I’m also on Tamoxifen, which builds bone. I already had osteoporosis, but have been reversing it without drugs for 7 years. Good luck with your decision.
