The Sirt Diet activates the Sirtuin genes in our bodies and help to grow muscle mass. From my point of view it is very easy to add more of theses foods and well worth it if it has effects on my bones. This group of foods are: kale, rocket, parsley, lovage, bird's-eye chilli, buckwheat, capers, celery, cocoa, coffee, extra virgin olive oil, green tea (specially matcha), Medjool dates, red chicory, red onion, rocket o aurugula, red wine, soy, strawberries, turmeric, walnuts.
I have also seen reports about the protective effect of Resveratrol, that by side, has a rejuvenating effect so that's a plus.
When I had my first Dexa, I told the nurse that I always look for natural ways to help my body. She wrote: "This lady has a naive point of view" Lol!

I agree Fruitandnutcase and it is very sad to have that square mind. Our bodies are extraordinary and the best way to me, is to support it, with or without drugs.
What a salty remark from that nurse! 🤬 Surely an open mindedness on both a natural and a pharmaceutically approach should always be considered 🤷. Try everything I say!
Nerea, thank you for the pubmed link, and for the list of goodies, those sirtfoods! I was happy to realise that many of them are already staples in our kitchen, used on a daily basis.
I totally agree with that nurse....NOT!!! What a closed mind she has, how ignorant.
Like you, I also look for natural ways to help my body rather then take a pill. I believe in food as medicine.
I've been "dinged" in my DEXA record by a nurse who rolls her eyes when I don't answer yes to the "calcium" foods....one is due to cow's milk allergy! They also refuse to include the information that I had a parathyroid tumor/adenoma. I also added Resveratrol a few months ago, no way to know if it's working, but my skin is happier!
Thank you so much for this information. I have never heard of this, but will certainly be looking into it more, and including these foods into my diet more. How rude and closed minded is that nurse 🤦.
You are welcome 1ChLoE. I suppose nurses and doctors are more directed to drugs as a way of thinking. Unfortunately the studies about a more holistic approach does not report economic benefits
