These only grow inferior bone stop using milk cut down diary take 800 iu vitaminD. Buy Pak Choi and Brocolli ever time you have vegetables that are full of calcium as well as chia seeds and sesame seeds add these last two to porridge and eat regularly. Make sure you take vitamins with boron magnesium and manganese and squeeze a whole lemon into warm water buy real ginger and tumeric take skin off put in freezer and grate these two into your lemon drink packed full of vitamin C. l am not a very big meat eater but l have steak and eggs or liver at least once a week for protein. l have had had osteoporosis since 2009 but it doesn't bother me and i have never had a fracture. Cut junk food out. Try to lose some weight eat healthy food and walk as much as possible preferably with a weighted jacket or belt. Good luck !!!

The thing I really like about these forums is swapping notes with others in similar situations, understanding that everyone is different and that what works for one doesn’t mean it would be right for someone else. I am pleased for you that you have found your way but I will decide for myself and that could mean taking the things you have outlawed.

thats ok just saying it works for me no problems at all no back or leg aches anymore and if it helps other people who are open minded good. l have down a hell of a lot of research and Alendonic etc grows brittle bones otherwise why would one of the symptoms of taking them be necrosis of the jaw ie wearing away of the bone in the jaw if biphosphates are supposed to grow bone ???

I would say that 800iu Vitamin D is the minimum needed, with many of us needing much more. The ideal blood level is at least 75nmol/litre (30ng/ml), preferably 100nmol/litre (40ng/ml). I need 2000iu daily to achieve 100nmol/litre.

yes but NB its not a silver bullet. I have been told to stop taking Vit D by the Osteo nurse as my levels are too high and I have had a number of spinal fractures this year. Certainly get tested and educate yourself on levels needed.

I get my blood D level monitored twice a year to ensure it stays within range. Vitamin D alone won't cure osteoporosis, but low Vitamin D can reduce calcium absorption and therefore cause it. Optimal levels of blood D will ensure sufficient calcium is being absorbed, but of course there are many other causes of osteoporosis, which also need to be addressed as necessary.

As I am allergic or hate and wouldn’t eat much of what you do,I’ll stick to tablet calcium thanks! Glad you found what suits you and hope you never do get fractures in your spine- I have at least 6 so further damage limitation here.I have though eschewed nasty drugs re side effects but feel if that’s all dox can offer, there ain’t much else, so just cope like most have to.

I am Vegan and gluten free. I believe a healthy diet is important for good health. I eat to fuel my body. I hate when people say dairy is the best source of calcium. Dairy is so bad for you. I drink half a lemon in hot water every morning before breakfast. Never thought of adding tumeric. I eat 3 Brazil nuts every day for my thyroid. Just tried some Chicory coffee. I am into healthy eating and exercise daily. However, I do take a few supplements, Vitamin K, B-12, and Calcium with D. Everyone has to do what is best for them. My lifestyle is not for everyone.
