Has anyone else had increased pain in bones and areas of previous fractures following a Zolendronic acid infusion? Just over 1 month on and I'm increasingly aware of pain in my hands and feet......

post Zolendronic acid infusion problems
No but I had a lot of bone pain especially in the wrist I had just broken when I started taking alendronic acid. I only took it for four months though then stopped. I think you can feel it in your bones - or s9me people can.
I was switched to an annual infusion of zoledronic acid in Feb, from quarterly ibandronate treatments. I had quite severe side effects (flu like symptoms) and pain in lower back and thighs up to a month afterwards. Also a severe outbreak of cold sores all around my mouth over the 3 - 4 weeks following treatment - (suggests compromised immune system?) Normally might get one every couple of years if that! Reason for changing treatment seemed to be purely to reduce no of times have to visit clinic during covid, so am planning to contact gp nearer to time next infusion due and ask to change back. Have never seen osteoporosis specialist other than nurse who discussed with me initially which treatment would be best.
thank you for replying. Sorry that you too are finding the side effects troublesome. It's so hard knowing how to balance the benefits of medication with the side effects, which one can only experience afterwards! Maybe what is the best varies from one to another; we all have a cocktail of conditions, but this forum is very helpful because the input is not just coming from one source.
