Have been on prolia injections for 5 years since breast cancer and double mastectomy followed by 3 months of chemo. Next Prolia Due 7/2019. Wasn’t informed of possible side effects but have been researching prolia past 9 months due to feeling like “crap” with no obvious explanation. Have decided to refuse scheduled prolia. Don’t want to quit “cold turkey”, am wondering about starting fosamax instead.I know my cancer MD will be dissatisfied with my decision but my family MD agrees new issues could be related to prolia. Any thoughts/experiences appreciated.

Not experienced with op medicines as I haven’t taken them but from being here I would say the biggest thing is, as you are doing, research what to take next. You should not stop Prolia without going directly onto another med - no gap - to help avoid possible rebound fractures but Im guessing you know this. Also use the “Search” at the top of the page to find posts on this and the “Related Topics” at the side of this page where there are posts about stopping Prolia. I’m sure someone will be along soon with more experience, information and advice.
Very best wishes for your recovery
Thank you
