While it was a long day at the hospital, the mapping procedure only took an hour. We really liked the Interventional Radiologist doing the procedures. The IR explained the purpose of the treatment, what to expect, answered our questions, and provided a prescription for pain relief if it was needed. The prescription was very important to my husband because of the severe pain he had after the biopsies for several days with no pain relief. Overall, hubby said it was much easier than the biopsies. Whew! We are waiting for a call to schedule the actual Y-90 radiation in the next one to two weeks. He was in no pain in the recovery room and for the rest of the day. What a blessing! Now, he just needs to take it easy for a couple of days and not get Covid. Omicron is everywhere here. While we have been scoffing at masks till now, we will be wearing them everywhere. What a relief to finally start treatment! Sending good thoughts to everyone, Linda.

Successful Y-90 Mapping Yesterday
Hi LindaGlad to hear the mapping went well. Yes Covid is exploding here in our area again. Trying to stay home as much as possible. Praying the actual procedure will go well and have positive results.

Great news. I had my first treatment Jan 4th. The next is Feb 3rd. My mapping and the first treatment were done through my left wrist. No laying flat for two hours! The next one will be through the groin. For me it is the after procedure nuclear scanning that I really do not care for. That takes about 45 minutes on my back arms wrapped and I feel like a caterpillar in a cocoon! But it is important. It checks to ensure none of the Therasphere micro glass balls went anywhere they were not supposed to go! I have three tumors in my right lobe and one in my right lobe. They do not do both lobes at the same time. The first and second day were zero problems. Then the weakness started. I felt like I was a whipped kitten! This is the first time I knew the tumors were actually there. I took the anti nausea and vomiting pills and the Nexium and one more that was on a silver card. As for pain I have not taken any Oxycodone that was prescribed. Really not bad for me. I guess it depends where and how close to the surface the tumors are. So on the 11th day I am doing well. I am so thankful for all the people that participated in the Legacy study. I am thankful that the FDA approved this procedure March 2021. I trust for your husband to have a great result. It will be a long three month wait until that next MRI to see if the tumors were killed or if I will need another treatment. But with me this is in the hands of Jesus! I talk to him all time thanking Him for what he has given to me in life. My wife just came home yesterday from the hospital. She had a GI bleed and almost did not make it. My 50 year old son this week had his right leg amputated just above the knee. That ole Devil sure been trying hard to get my soul back. I refuse to go into that darkness and will stay in the light of Jesus, Amen
That is just so cool that they were able to do your procedures through your wrist, Bill. Science is so amazing!
Your reaction sounds quite like Dave's; he had no pain, just some nausea that hit a couple days later. It did not last too long, and he was back in the gym about a week, week and a half after the actual Y-90.
I'm so glad your dear wife is back home and will keep your son in my prayers as well. Keep that strong, positive attitude - that and your faith will serve you well!

So glad to hear that your wife is home. I'll add your son to my prayers. Yes, the Devil doesn't give up does he? I know there's been times when he's tried to get to Jimmy whispering doubts in his ears. It is ALL in God's hands and in his timing. While I pray for and will accept God's will in Jimmy's illness, I also pray for my hope which is to have my husband as long as possible. Cancer is so terrible not only to the person with it but to the loved ones who see the suffering it causes and get left behind. Praying your next treatment goes well and for good results. Also for your wife and son. 💗🙏🙏🙏💗Sharon
I am so glad the mapping went well, that is fantastic news! I found that it kind of takes the worry away to get that first procedure done so you have more of an idea what to expect for the actual Y-90.
Stay safe, guys! All the best to you both.

Great news that the Y-90 process has begun. Praying that the treatment goes well and does an amazing job in shrinking the areas.
So glad the mapping went well!! My husband had minimal issues with the Y 90 except for some nausea so I hope yours does as well and has a great response! Bonnie
