Hi everyoneHaven't posted for a while not sure why I get BHF posts and none for this page anymore ?
Anyway still having difficulties with meds and would be grateful for any help please .
I am now on Irbesartan 75mg felt dreadful the first few days but seems to be settling.
I am also on Rosuvastatin and Clopidogrel but I am suffering very badly with GERD and my insomnia in worse than ever.
I have been prescribed Famotidine to help GERD but it doesn't seem to be doing anything. I can't have PPI as I have osteopenia. Before I was on meds I controlled GERD quite well with herbal tinctures.
I had been on Felodipine but the GP said that was causing the GERD together with Clopidogrel. Any one else had this problem? I am feeling desperate and the GP says she doesn't know what to do with me next. Also been told not to go back to A &E when BP high (186/89) despite referral from 111. Help !and thanks sorry for the long post !

Hi and thanks for your reply. I have seen a cardiologist as I was breathless however this was attributed to pulmonary sarcoidosis not my heart. No treatment needed for that yet thankfully. The cardiologist did prescribe statins and aspirin as precautions however the aspirin aggravated GERD and it was thought Clopidogrel would be better though I am not entirely happy about that. I am fit go to gym regularly weigh 7.5 stones don't smoke or drink and have a very healthy diet. BP reading above 180 is a medical emergency as per 111 who referred me to hospital. Thanks again
Hello Bobby I have recently been admitted to hospital as an emergency with a BP 133/120 stroke territory. I also suffer from AF which made it so urgent. I was discharged the next day as BP dropped to185/100 the consultant I saw said they were quite happy with that.
and further to my post just now - I’ve looked up the NICE guidelines. For pressure readings over 180/120 in the surgery yes further action to be taken. But your diastolic pressure wasn’t high. I assume it was a reading at home?
