Hello everyone

Starting Amlodipine 5mcg again and already suffer from tinnitus

Reading that amlodipine is a highly possible cause of tinnitus or worsening tinnitus

Has anyone had any experience of this?

Hi jacobite. Yes, I already had tinnitus made worse by Amlodipine but other meds can make it worse too. Good luck with yours and remember that it may not worsen in your case as we're all different.

Thank you for replying springcross May I ask what dosage you were/are on? Been told before 5mcg wouldn’t cause or worsen tinnitus and yes we are all different

Hi jacobite. I'm on 5 mg. I'm pretty sure they don't make a 5 mcg tablet. I think some GPs think everyone fits the mold. It's as we've just said, we're all different and it's certainly made mine worse.

Hi there, yes they do a 5mg dose I am taking it. Had no problems at all at that dosage. Like its always been said what works for one does not always work for others.

Hi Dizzytwo. I take the 5 mg too and as we said above, we're all different. Glad you've never had a problem.

Amlodopine made my tinnitus worse and brought on more side effects when they upped it to 10 that are rare but documented. I struggled way too long because the Dr's didn't pick up on the rare side effects! Ine day I stopped in and demanded a change from this calcium blocker to a different class, an ARB and began to feel better after 4 days. Consider researching all side effects including the uncommon ones to remain aware of anything that could be related.

I developed tinnitus in my right ear after my dose of Ramipril was upped to 10.Already had it in my left ear
