Mistake of taking Lisinopril with Caffeine

So, I only came across an article by accident but it stated that taking BP pills with coffee lowers the effect of the BP pill. Is this correct. I must admit pretty much every day I've taken the pill after I've eaten my breakfast and swallowed it with my morning cup of coffee. I've stopped that for now, taking the pill late morning/lunchtime, but wondered what I should/shouldn't be taking it with.

I’ve read in the past that all medication should be with water and not with coffee. But that was in an article years ago. Read the pack insert on your medicine to see what it says, and if you’re not sure have a word with your pharmacist as they’re really up to date (or ought to be ) with this kind of thing.

Hi moonerman. Not seen this article, so do you have a link? I take my bp tablets with a cold drink because they are a plastic capsule and I think a hot drink would 'melt' them. If memory serves, most tablets should be taken with a glass of water. hope this helps!

Morning. I’m on Lisinopril and take mine in the evening before bed with water. I read when I first started it’s a good time to take them as any side effects are less troublesome and I have just continued. I always take any tablet with a good drink of water.

Less caffeine=less BP tablets?. I have come off caffeine and drink coffee decaffeinated by non- chemical treatments. Beware that many outlets use normal coffee but with only one shot, which really means low caffeine, but is still classed as decaf
