Hi, I was taken off Doxazosin but remain on the coracten (Nifedipine) as the Doxazosin caused bladder protons constant diarrhoea. My pressure ranges from 156/72 to 125/59. Do I need to contact my doctor again.

I don’t know the answer but what I would do is this.Make an appointment with your doc for about a ten days time. Have a chat with your pharmacist- they are really clued up on medicines, their side effects and inter reactions. Take your BP at roughly the same time each day after relaxing for ten minutes, breathe slowly but not deeply and have the cuff on ready to push the button. Take the pressure three times and if the first is much higher throw it away and take another. Write everything down.

Then when you see the doc you are armed with everything you, as a patient, can do to help him or her makes some decisions.

Hope this helps
