I took it for a short while from a locum doctor. It's mainly used for men with prostrate trouble. I didn't get in with it too well do my regular doctor switched me to losartan.

Thanks,I seem to remember my husband also took it for prostate probs., I'm not starting it yet till I find out more. Also I've been given 2mg script but if I go ahead I'll just take half tablet to start . Oh dear I do wish docs would explain things better!!!

Thanks for info...I still haven't started doxazosin...at the moment I'm trying pumpkin seed oil, more recommended for men (prostate probs.) but there is is some who think it is ok for helping females with oab!!! Who knows? I'm desperate so trying all sorts. I'm puting a general query on the site to see if any other ladies have tried pumpkin seed oil!

Hi. I've been taking 2mg doxazosin for about four weeks but I've stopped for a week to see if some symptoms I'm having are side effects. I've had some vertigo spells, back pain and upset stomach recently, they seemed OK at first so I just want to check. I'll consider starting on a half dose after that maybe, or a different bp med.

Many thanks, I haven't started it yet, but when I do (if?) it will be on the half dose!

I take it in addition to ramipril and bisoprilol. No side effects. I find it works well x

Thanks for this reassuring reply...I'll probably give it a go soon. I also take ramipril - and nebivilol as bisoprilol didn't suit me (made my raynauds worse!

I was given Doxazosin early 2000. My wife and i went away the week after i started them. whilst away, i started to be angry at her (for no reason) just shouting at her. when we were in the town centre of our holiday, my wife suggested that i speak to a chemist, which i did. lo and behold, i was allergic to them. when we got home, i saw the doctor and he immediately took them off me and gave me adifferent one.
