I’ve never heard that a statin could reduce blood pressure myself. Certainly some statins are best taken at night.

statins do lower cholesterol as for blood pressure I have not heard that one. We need cholesterol for our brains. The cholesterol thing has been debunked by certain doctors, although many doctors get kick backs for recommending them.

There is evidence that statins have a mild lowering effect on blood pressure - this is more noticeable in patients with low HDL levels and very high blood pressure. That doesn't mean you don't need a blood pressure medication too though. pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/193....

As for when to take your statin, some doctors do recommend you take it around bedtime or in the evening for the reason you imply, but whenever you take it, its best to stick to the same time every day.

Hi GraunReader, I am taking 40 Mrs of statin (similar to the one you are taking). I take it last thing at night and my cholesterol has halved to a very low number…….not sure on BP reduction as an added effect…..don’t think so…..
