I'm back on Ramipril but going to go back onto Perindopril with the diuretic Indapamide however I'm awaiting a referral to a specialist centre as they're running out of options after two years of trying.
Sorry you're having problems I am much the same. It is a drain on your energy I am calling the charity line today as nothing else has helped so far. Good luck !
Notoriously blood pressure tablets have many undesirable side effects , I am allergic to many so appreciate your problems . But having said that I have taken tablets for years with no problem in the past so with perseverance you can sometimes find a suitable one . Now I am older I have had to change and sadly dont like the side effects of Losartan but have to continue taking as the ones I used to take were causing another illness. There are some herbal options but don't think they are necessarily the best option. Good luck with finding some solution for you.
Hi, If I may ask, what kind of side effects are you having on losartan? I'm taking it and think that's the cause of by muscle pain and sore back. Doctors say no.
I am the same side effects have been awful, depression, pins and needles, confusion, to name but a few. I am now on Indapamide 2.5mgand Bisoprolol Fumarate 2.5mg at moment. I have pins and needles in left hand occasionally and most important my pressure is down too, and dreading going to 5 mg, as leading a normal life. Don’t give up, there will be something, my new drugs were suggested by hospital as had tried all the doctors suggestions.
Hi Redrawn, I really empathise with you. I have been on BP meds for 6 weeks. First on amlodipine for 2 weeks. I couldn't take the side effects dizzy most of the day and a really hyped up insomnia at night. I was feeling quite down on the also after blood test my kidney function wasn't good. I have now been on rampril for 2 weeks I don't feel as bad although if I take them at night I get insomnia, also kidney function tests have not improved. I really hope that you find a medication to suit you. I myself and keeping my fingers crossed
It’s so tough eh? I thought it would be easier than this. My BP is now being treated with Bendroflumithizide. I am so totally sick of the dizzy and faint feelings. The insomnia and the GP just not giving a shit about how I feel. They care about numbers and not the dayto day dragging your body around. It makes me angry there aren’t better treatments. Keep me posted x
I will do. I don't think anyone should have to suffer debilitating side effects. The nurse told me there are plenty of alternative meds to try. I'm not going to suffer in silence. I'm also hypothyroid which doesn't help as I cant take any meds for 4 hours after my thyroid ones. We'll get there in the end
l know how you feel🙁last year I was put on amlodipine, omg.within a week my legs and feet were so swollen I could hardly move ,I was so anxious I almost fainted in the nail shop and had to be helped out ,I felt dreadful .The doctor said go on a lower does, I decided to leave them off a week first. everything went back to normal🤗. I decided to find out everything I could about BP . Books on line . Filled a eating plan for lowering it ,lost weight, exercise,Hibiscus tea and Vitams .I am now normal.become your own expert.Good Luck which ever way you go .🙏
Yes anxiety and insomnia are issues with A.C.E meds ask your Doc for help good luck remember the alternative is a stroke or worse so persevere and stay safe
For me, Cardiform is the ideal remedy for high blood pressure. These are capsules based on garlic, lemon balm and hawthorn. I have been taking it for 2 months, I feel fine, there are no pressure surges.
