If you haven’t done so already, read the information that was in the pack with your tablets. This might help.We are not doctors on this forum and cannot advise you about medication, if that’s what you are asking, but you might want to give the medicine time to work. Saying that, your BP was indeed very high and must be brought under control.
The website of Blood Pressure UK is very helpful.
Don’t forget, it’s not just tablets - it’s down to you to get the lifestyle issues such as diet and exercise - improved.
My cousin was taking Candesartan plus he had already had ablations for atrial fibrillation. When he developed brady-tachy, he was immediately told to stop Candesartan.
Candesartan is of the ARB class. I take Olmersartan which is also in the ARB class. You might want to look up side effects for Candesartan, and if you find that palpitations is a side effect, you may want to discuss another ARB or a drug in another class.
Hi I have been on 16mg Candesarten for over 15 years (started on 32mg but lowered when i lost weight) together with Bendrofluemethizide and Doxazozin which has kept my blood pressure down successfully so it worked for me. Good luck.
How are you getting on with candestarten? Has it reduced your BP? I have been taking this for over 10 years and it has been fine until last year.
I had to increase Candestarten from 16mg to 32mg over the last year as in March last year I had a sudden large increase in my BP and tacychardia (heart rate over 100 bpm) which I've had 3 times over the last 3 years but tests found nothing and cardiologist advised me to get a device to do ECG when I get the palpitaitons.
My BP still isn't controlled at 140/97 average. I've finally spersuaded my GP to refer me back to the Cardiology dept as I said there must be a reason for this sudden large and continuing increase.
