I wad recently diagnosed with renal vascular hypertension. My unmedicated pressure was over 300 and had to be measured with a arterial line. The highest was 385/360. Even with 9 pressure pills my pressure was still extremely high 220/170. I found out that my renal artery was calcified and my kidneys could not control the pressure. Surgery corrected the issue but my hypertension has caused many problems. Aortic stenosis, left ventricle issues, stiffened arteries and the slightest exertion causes the veins in my arms to become extremely distended. My pressure now is 144/100.

As someone who is also experiencing seemingly untreatable dangerously high BP, I'm really interested to read your post Hbp200. Having just a sole, reduced functioning kidney, it appears most likely that my kidney function could be the most likely root cause. Could you please tell me how you arrived at your diagnosis of renal vascular hypertension, ie what tests? I also have heart issues. It sounds as though your systolic pressure at least is now normal - what a relief that must be for you.
