Beta Blockers raising A1c

Has anyone else gotten high fasting glucose and elevated A1c levels after taking beta Blockers? My doctor says it can raise levels by as much as 20 points. That’s the difference for me between normal fasting blood sugar levels and prediabetic levels. He told me I always have to take them to prevent arrhythmias since I take thyroid drugs (Armour thyroid-gland is surgically removed). So now I face a lifetime of diabetes because of it? Anybody with experience with this? What did you do? Thanks.
