IC trigger foods- do they always affect you?

Hi there, I’m new and in the process of trying to get a diagnosis for what my Doctor thinks may be endo and IC.

I’m looking for some answers on trigger foods/drinks.

I have found in the past that I can have weeks of eating and drinking the typically bad ones (caffeine, alcohol, spicey food etc) and be fine... and then all of a sudden I have a flare of bad pelvic pain and very painful urination.

I’ve then tried cutting those out (so far only gone about a week) and basically living on mint tea, water and eggs! My symptoms started to go away then came back, so could pain possibly be not related to food or drink at all??

I just don’t get (if alcohol, caffeine etc) is a trigger for me then why could I have it for weeks and be fine and then suddenly not.

Also, if it’s not food or drink I’m not sure how to control the symptoms as they seem random. I’m scared to plan anything in case it happens :(

I’m just guessing here - but are you aged around 48 ish? Peri-menopausal? If so, try cranberry juice ( it didn’t work for me though). Drink plenty of water.

I’ve been thinking - about twenty years ago a friend had constant symptoms like yours, they went off with antibiotics but returned immediately. Turned out her womb had non-cancerous growths and the enlarged womb was pressing on her bladder.

That’s interesting that a growth caused the same symptoms. Something I’ll have to mention to my doctor. Hopefully not too long to wait for further investigation 😞
