I take Warfarin for DVT.s and normally my INR is very stable but since drinking a protein shake every day my INR has dropped.

I suspect that the shake had Vitamin K but there is no list of vitamins on the product

I cant find any other make of shake which has vitamins listed either.

Are there any shakes without Vitamin K ?

I would like to continue drinking protein shakes as they greatly help my mobility .

If you're consistent with the shakes, then they can dose around it (ie: raise your warfarin dose to compensate for the extra vitamin K).

But it's hard to see where the vitamin K is coming from. Is it a milk-based shake, or does it contain kale or seaweed or something?

My dose has been increased for a couple of days and then back to normal.I will discuss with my nurse with a view to increase my dose so i can continue with the shakes

The shakes are Whey protein and they have nearly a instant increase in my left leg mobility so i would like to carry on with them

Whey protein does indeed contain vitamin K, but in fairly small amounts.

the general advice is to have a diet where no supplements of this sort are needed. For instance, , does your shake is probably an Ultra Processed Food and dieticians are now saying that these should be avoided.

What about in teasing your egg and fish intake?

It could be that your doctors practice employs a dietician and if so that would be a good source of information, or a pharmacist might know.

I have read that with my body weight ,130 Kg, my protein requirement is quite high so I think it needs to be supplemented.

as long as the source of the information that you have read is backed by verifiable research that’s fine. I’ve also read that protein shakes are not recommended other than for those with very strenuous jobs such as professional athletes.

Forgive my spelling mistakes in my earlier post which I didn’t check properly! I meant to say increasing your intake of fish and eggs!

As an aside, when I was wanting to lose a few kilograms a dietician recommended that I reduce my carb intake and increase my protein intake by the same amount of calories. So if for example a slice of bread is 150calories I would forget the bread but add a tin of sardines in tomato sauce. I don’t know if you want to lose weight, but for me this worked well.
