I was about to order up some pumpkin seed supplements as like a lot of older people I've issues with my bladder. (I've had this for 15+ years) In the last couple of years I've been on a couple of medications from the GP regarding this, but they haven't really worked, so I thought I'd give supplements a go after seeing an online Ad. I was surfing around to get the most bang for my buck and spotted a reference to not taking these with some medications, such as blood thinners, aspirin & statins etc. More surfing I came across more sites say this, BUT also sites that said pumpkin seeds were LOW in vitamin K, whilst others had them as HIGH. Talk about contradictions!! Anyway, has anyone had any "formal" advice on this? (And if pumpkin seeds should be avoided was any other supplement recommended? ). Thanks

My strategy for vitamin K is to have at least one large dietary source per day so that it drowns out all the other minor fluctuations. Kale, spinach, a whole avocado, a whole pack of pine nuts; that sort of thing.
Pine nuts and cashews are both reasonably high, but some of the other nuts are not, so I'm not sure where pumpkin seeds would fit in.
You haven't explained what 'bladder problems' you have. For example, do you mean frequency of going for a pee, frequent UTIs, or if you are a man restricted flow likely caused by BPH? There will be other conditions, and each one might have a different solution whether involving a supplement or not. And when you have defined what you have you could extend your question to another HealthUnlocked site such as Bladder Health UK.
I don't know what problems you have with your bladder but if pumpkin supplements were the solution I think we would all be hearing more about it
bladder issues, like other issues, are often complex, needing treatment on different fronts at the same time, eg medication where appropriate, relevant physiotherapy to help with altered muscle control and some "lifestyle" changes
so maybe digging deeper into treatment strategies for your problem might be a more effective approach?
in the meantime pumpkin seeds are relatively cheap and tasty - we have been eating them as part of our varied diet for years, whole and ground - nutritionists always say that a varied diet, high in vegetables is preferable to supplements (except in rare cases where specific conditions leave the body unable to process food normally)
true, but what else can they do with all the stuff scooped out of leery pumpkin lanterns!🎃😄
It's K1 that interacts with warfarin. (How much you get doesn't matter that much -- just that it's consistent so that your warfarin dose can be adjusted to match.)
