the prices insurers charge are entirely dependent on your particular circumstances and each insurer has different criteria.
What suits one person won’t suit another.
Start with the BHF website and see what they say, and also look at the websites of Moneyhelper and Moneysavingexpert.
Whatever you do, get the price first and then budget your holiday accordingly.
Shop around, I did some quotes early this year and the same cover ranged from £500 to over £5000.
Oddly the best was from the insurer that covers both my house and car, the worst was from a ‘specialist’ broker often recommended to heart patients.
hi. So it really depends on when you were diagnosed and how under control your condition is. I was diagnosed with heart failure in October 2022. In September 2023 went to Turkey and insurance for this trip cost me £260. A quote for USA was over £1500. October this year went to Tenerife and insurance this time cost £40 and quote for USA is now only £200. All my conditions are declared but as it’s under control, no unexpected hospital visits and no out standing procedures make a big difference.
I think I saw something about travel insurance on the heart failure section of healthunlocked. I think you have to join.
