Hello, has anyone had an ablation and then pacemaker fitted at the same time?My cardiologist is proposing to do an ablation (or cardioversion, he's not sure which will be needed) and directly after whichever procedure he does, he will fit a two lead pacemaker.

My huge concern is I will have to continue to take anticoagulants for the first, to minimise risk of blood clots, so I will obviously bleed more and not heal so quickly when pacemaker fitted. He says I may have to stay in hospital 2 or 3 days.

Any shared experience of this would be much appreciated.

I was started on heparin and warfarin 2 days after my mechanical valve replacement. So essentially all of my recovery from open heart surgery happened while on anticoagulants.

Speaking of which, I'm 12 weeks today. 🎉
