Finally decided it's the 20mg Lisinopril which is causing the tingly numb fingers.

I'm 79, reasonably active, but no formal exercise, (I run a B&B). After 12 years of various BP meds, Candesartan caused ankle swelling, , couldn't tolerate felodipine, finally using Lisinopril, but have numb fingertips. Bisoprolol 2.5mg was added in 2017 following a brief episode of AF-due to low potassium, alongside 60mg Edoxaban. Also take Rosuvastatin 10mg.

Just changed to 1.25mg Nebivilol instead of the Biso, with the sanction of the cardio, and finally decided it's the Lisinopril which is probably the cause. My Kidneys are fine as is my cholesterol levels.

I take 125mcg Levothyroxine a day, and 5mcg Liothyronine, 25 mg Spironolactone, my sodium levels are always on the low side, and I take omega 3, electrolytes, magnesium, D3 +K2, B12 shots for PA. Bloods all normal. I also have a BRVO so want to keep the BP on the lower side of normal so not to cause further odema in the retina. Arteries clear as well.

My BP is always around lowish-mid 119-128/ 65-72.

Is there something else I can take instead of the Lisinopril which will not cause tummy upsets, numbness, etc. Happy to try something which is not another tablet, UV light? as the liver, which is also fine at the moment, takes the brunt of my daily meds, and I tend to rattle!!

congrats on still working at your (and my!) age!

There are many bp-lowering drugs. You are on a combination of lots of things so it could be a question of trial and error.

the person who is most clued up on drugs,,their inter-reactions and side effects, is a pharmacist. Your doctor’s group of surgeries will be employing one or more of these professions. If you get an appointment with him or her and discuss, then they can advise your doctor appropriately

An update on my previous post above.

I have had meds for high BP since running to give blood about 20 years ago-they refused as my BP was high-I'd just been running up the road as was late for the appointment!!

I have tried various meds with mixed result, Candesartan- swollen ankles, runny nose, AF after amlodipene, atenolol, and am now on Lisinopril 20mg, and Bisoprolol fumerate 2.5mg. But my fingertips feel odd, tingly and hypersensitive but my phone does not always respond to their touch.

Has anyone tried using Hawthorn Berry drops for BP?

I have an appointment with the local Pharmacist next week and if they agree will start the Nebivilol in a few week's time, and see what happens, and if my readings stay satisfactory, drop the 20 mg Lisinopril to 10 to see how I get on. Ideally, if it is the Lisinopril which is causing the fingertip problem I can stay on the Nebivilol and drop the Lisinopril.
