A simple finger oximeter should do the trick. And cheap.

But not to be relied on with a pacemaker. From all I can gather people with PMs best bet is just find your wrist pulse, count beats in 15secs and multiply by four.

Are you talking about “affecting “ your PPM, or the HR being an unreliable measure.

I have a Medtronic PPM and have an Apple Watch, Omron BP device, and Oximeter. All give reliable HR readings. None affect my PPM. My cardio approves of these.

Cheers

As I understand it, with some heart conditions, including some people with PMs, simple devices cannot reliably measure HR.

That’s easy to check by sampling radial pulse as well.

I have an ICD and all medical staff I’ve spoken to have said an oximeter is fine.

Do you want to read your pulse - i.e. heart rate - or are you looking for an oximeter?

I have never heard or being told that HR wrist watches interfere with pacemakers. I assume oximeters won't either as long as you keep your hand away from the pacemaker when you use it.

Not what you're looking for?
