Hi Giant567. How do you feel? Is you heart rate varying lots when you’re sitting down? Is your HR at 45 when you’re resting?

Do you feel OK? What’s your heart issue that’s causing you to measure it (if you don’t mind me asking)? Is it usually 60/70 when you’re active or resting?

I was diagnosed with AF 12 months ago

Ah. I think one of our AF hearties needs to help you out. I’m assuming that you feel OK and don’t feel dizzy etc. If that’s the case then a heart rate of 45 wouldn’t itself be a problem. But I can’t comment on whether or not it’s something to worry about for someone with your history.

If it reacts normally to exercise, ie increases , and you feel OK then I would not worry about it.

I would still contact your GP for advice though.if you are concerned

I have SVT initially diagnosed with AF.

My resting heart rate is about 53 but I am on 5mg Bisoprolol and recently put on 50mg Flecanide twice daily as I was having daily episodes of PAF / SVT .

Since starting Flecanide I have been stable and no AF at all for month now.

Keep on talking to the GP or Cardiology team and it should all get sorted eventually

What medication are you on? Many of us are on meds which include things which slow down the heart. But the advice to go to your GP is on the money.

Can you contact your heart nurses easily? If so I would ask them

I think that's low, mine is 120 when resting. Is your's a resting pulse like mine?

A resting heart rate of 120 is high. Suggest you contact 111 your doctor unless this is something they/you already know about and are dealing with.

in reply toNorthantsSteve

The doctors & local hospital already know about it, was 105 until recently, but don't wanna do anything about it nor any of the other heart problems that can be sorted out

If you are an athlete a strong pulse can be very low as your body recovers quickly from exertion. One measure of fitness is how quickly your heart goes from flat out to resting . How much exercise do you take?

Not what you're looking for?
