travel insurance
Our bank gives free insurance and I pay a premium on top which helps keep the cost down thanks to. Nationwide
One thing I would add in addition to the usual "we are all different so shop around" advice is that you check out packaged bank accounts (for example Nationwide FlexPlus, £156 a year includes worldwide family travel insurance, breakdown cover and mobile phone insurance). You can pay an additional personalised premium to include your medical conditions in this policy. This gives you a couple of options - 1) using this as your "base" insurance and accept the medical exclusions. You can then source a policy to cover your medical conditions, but may be able to get this cheaper if you don't need all the other whistles and bells that the "base" policy still provides (eg legal, theft, loss, sick relative etc). 2) Pay the additional premium and have all your cover in one place.
Personally I found that the extra premium to upgrade the base cover was considerably more expensive than just buying seperate single policy cover for short haul trips to Europe, but it was about half the price of a single trip policy to a long haul destination.
It probably also depends a bit on your family circumstances. If you have two cars and four iPhones in your household (with two wielded by kids), £156 a year for phone and breakdown cover is pretty good even if you didn't need travel insurance at all. That it also covers four family members completely for worldwide travel as they don't have medical exclusions makes it a bit of a no brainer.
If you are seeking cover just for yourself, as a couple where both have medical conditions, or if anyone is over 70 (which also costs extra), it may not be so worthwhile.
