Hi, can anyone help with a query regarding travel insurance medical screening for LBBB?I was diagnosed with LBBB and tests found no underlying reasons. I had an echo in September 2022 and was advised that I would be called for another in 2 years time. My medical questionnaire for travel insurance is asking whether in the last 6 months I am awaiting tests or investigations. Do I say yes because I know I will be called for another echo later this year?

I suggest you talk to your insurer's customer service people and get them to decide on the answer to the question. It sounds to me that you have an upcoming investigation which is what they are usually interested in, and that affects how they calculate your risk profile and the premium. If you provide an incorrect answer to a question either deliberately or even in good faith and you need to make a claim, you may find that your insurance turns out to be invalid. To quote an old post on here from some time ago, insurance companies are ruthless if you don't declare everything.

Insurers are ruthless if you declare EVERYTHING so I agree with you. Declare every minor detail! Great advice.

as Lowerfield says. But the screeners sometimes pop the question back to you, saying you (the potential insured) must state whether you are waiting investigation or not.

Tell them that you have to be tested once a year and that this is what everyone with this syndrome has. If indeed this is true.

Bear in mind that if you are having investigations to decide what your problem is, they can’t insure you because they cannot know the risk. If you are having tests because that’s what happens with your disease (like I have to have my blood pressure tested) then that’s part of the disease and can be assessed.

Does this make sense?

This is an oddity of the system.I have Liver Cirrhosis and consequently have been on a 6 monthly cancer screening programme for the last 10 years.

Strictly speaking they are upcoming tests but my insurance company don't count them as they are part of my condition.

As someone has already pointed out, speak to the Customer Service department.

Health Insurance is a minefield but please be brutally honest when applying. Leave nothing out, even a visit to the GP.

Thanks everyone. Insurance company have said that if it's general monitoring or upkeep of a condition, it's not counted as awaiting tests or investigation. Really appreciate all of your replies.
