I'm a 33 year old mum of two. Past medical history Severe hyperthyroidism - thyrotoxicosis

Chronic long standing lipodema

Leg swelling and pain

Ankle swelling

Superventricular Tachycardia

Tachycardia

Ectopic beats

More recently I have had severe nausea of a morning, leg pain and sweating.

Iv had feelings of similar to indigestion which just won't budge.

Last night my husband woke me he thought I had 'wet' the bed as I went to the toilet I was soaked along with my pillow, bed sheet and duvet this was from severe sweating.

My watch is giving me notifications that my heart rate is between 100-150bpm which is not unusual for me.

I visited my GP and he put it down to thyroid causing these symptoms, my thyroid has been stake for a few years now.

I do know thyroid can cause heart failure which is what I am worried about, that fatigue is awful, nausea unbearable.

Leg pain and swelling keeps me up at night and I suppose I'm used to the Tachycardia now so I have just lived with it rather than getting more medical attention.

I have had around 4 episodes of SVT and needed adenosine but no answers as to why.

Any one have any suggestions? I just do not feel right and know my body

Hello :-)

I am sorry you are going through so much and I always say we know our own bodies better than anyone else does and it sounds like you know yours and at the moment feel something is not right and I know when you get that feeling for me anyway it is better to keep pushing till you get some answers

We obviously are not Doctors but what you describe is happening does not seem quite right and I would go back again to my Doctors and tell them I wanted referring to a Cardiologist to be checked out and if they refused I would ask why along with asking if they could show you on your notes they had put you had asked for a referral but been refused sometimes that can make them sit up a bit and do one for you

Meantime you might find it helpful to phone the BHF Nurses and talk with them they could give you some really good feedback and suggestions

Let us know how you get on :-) x

I think you need to see a specialist for your thyroid not just the GP. Thyroid problems can cause a host of problems and this would need addressing/ruling out. Good luck

Hi I am sorry you are not feeling well, you need to either go back to your doctor or go to A&E and take this further or do what Bekind has suggested and call the heart helpline team you know your own body and if things don’t feel right take this further.

I hope you get some answers keep us posted !
