If you have a condition that could be linked to a side effect from taking any form of medication and it is serious and/or it interferes with you life you should discuss it with your prescribing health professional, or a pharmacist. And if you have a persistent annoying cough that might also be good reason to consult with a health professional since the cause might be nothing to do with medication.

I have just noticed you asked more or less the same question on here over 3 weeks ago.

As your cough is still with you it reinforces my suggestion to talk to a health professional.

Do you take an ACE inhibitor? Cough as a side-effect of angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitor therapy occurs in up to 20% of women and 10% of men.

Think along the lines of Ramipril, lisinopril, Enalapril ?

As has been said, the first thing to do is check with your health professionals re the cause of the cough.

But if it turns out to be an ACE inhibitor cough, your doctor can prescribe an alternative. I was on ramipril and found the cough intolerable. I was changed to an ARB, candesartan, and the cough disappeared after about two weeks.

Yes, I had a cough on a calcium channel blocker to which the release of the dosage was changed and I am no longer affected by it.

If you’re unsure if the medication is the culprit, it’s worth getting in touch with your medical provider to rule out any other causes just to be on the safe side.

All the best.
